Ophelia's Apothecary

Many months ago I ordered a voucher for Ophelia's Apothecary from the now defunct Heartsy.  This was my second voucher order.  Unfortunate timing resulted in a months long backlog for OA.  They moved in the middle of the offers.  I finally received my order, which included a couple of items from a flash sale and a pro bono jar of Morrocan Red Clay & Clove facial mask.  I mentioned how much I liked it, and she threw it in to make up for the months long delay.

I received:  1 jar of facial mask, 2 Pink Sugar Buttercream Lip Tints, Lemon Cheesecake Lip Balm, Cappuccino Lip Balm, 1 jar of eye shadow in Fools Rush In, 1 jar of eye shadow primer, 2 bags of hand blended body powder.  One in Sandalwood Vanilla, the other in Cashmere Woods.  20 sample vials of perfume oil.

The lip balms are soft and creamy.  I don't find them overly remarkable, but well worth the price if you find a scent that you can't live without.  I love the scent of the lemon cheesecake.  Non tinted balms $4.00, tinted $8.00.

I really like the eye shadow primer.  She lists the ingredients as: shea butter, candelilla wax, olive oil, vit e, and green tea.  It's very much along the lines of a balm. Seems to give me very good staying power and is .  rather reasonable at $6.75 for a 5ml jar with a cool seal on the top.

 From the shop:
"....this mask is not for the timid! i've taken our fabulously light hemp moisturizer and blended it with deep red moraccan clay, clove oil, and rosemary...and the end result is a very refreshing, deeply detoxifying treatment for your face. this clay is know for its ability to deeply cleanse pores and for detoxification...."  1.5 ounces for $12.00.  I feel that it's pretty pricey, but meets my craving for the smell of cloves.  She offers a trio of facial masks for $25.00.  I find this to be pretty reasonable.  The trio includes: Morrocan Red Clay, French Green Clay (cucumber/minty) and Mineral Rich Dead Sea Clay (lavender and mint).

Custom Franken Polish; Pegasus Poop ~ Glitters and Bubbles

One of my dear fellow bloggers, Amanda Solis of Glitters and Bubbles has apparently gone to lacquer heaven and is now creating custom franken polishes.  She is one of the first bloggers that I found when I started getting interested in indie products.  She does an outstanding job on swatches, so it's no surprise that people are clamoring to get a hold of her creations.  Check out Amanda's blog post.  Looks like a custom bottle is $10 US with $2/$4 shipping to the US/Canada.

This creation is Pegasus Poop

Tick:Tock Cosmetics - More Swatches

More swatches from Black Friday purchases.  Tick:Tock Cosmetics.  The first and second are swatched over primer.  The third is swatched with water.  I like the look of the water swatches, but it's super time consuming.  Still trying to find a happy medium.

Sundial: a rich creamy yellow with gold sparkle and gold glitter  (Light Goldenrod)
NEW Big Ben: A bold blue with a beautiful red shift and sparkle! (Sapphire Blue) (I'm not sure if my sample is the before or after.  It needed more base, I think.)
Midsummer Night: a deep burgandy/purple with loads of red glitter and a light dusting of holographic glitter.
Leap Year: a light pastel yellow with gold and green glitter.  (Lemon Chiffon)

Oh-Nine-Hundred: an army green with green and gold shimmer and green glitter. (Pea Green)
Metronome: a pure shimmery white with loads of holographic glitter.
Sexy Time: a black based blue, full of shimmer and holographic glitter.
Expiration Date: A funky, fun color, it's greyish green with some red shimmer and sparkle. (Army Green)

Clepsydra: Greek for "Water Clock", this shade is a dark greenish blue with a whole bunch of purple shimmer and sparkle.
Frozen in Time: An icy blue with lots of blue shimmer and sparkle.  (Really pretty)
Cuckoo: a medium teal with light blue and purple shimmer.
Hourglass: orange with gold shimmer and orange glitter.

To be honest, I didn't find near as much glitter as the descriptions indicate.  I found a lot of "shimmer" but not enough glitter that I would say they were "full of glitter".  Some indicate more than one color of glitter and I really couldn't find that as evident either.

After having been spoiled with Grandfather Clock and Salvador Dali, I am just that, spoiled.  Never fear, I have MORE Tick:Tock to swatch.

The teeny tiny fine print: All opinions are my own. I did not beg, borrow or steal the products that I reviewed. I purchased them with my own lunch money. Honest and semi-coherent reviews are the way to make a distinction between great companies who hand-formulate their products and those who take mica - repackage it, slap an organic/all natural tag on their products and call themselves artisans. Honesty is my policy, even if I hurt a few feelings along the way.
